Well, sometimes being a missionary is just not fun. For that matter, working with people all around can just be a pain some time. There is a young man that has worked with us for years now, his name is Jose Antonio. He is now working in Juliaca and was preparing to go to Spain to work. Spain is a great opportunity for a young man living in a country where the average income is under $200 a month.

He has been a Christian for many years now and has shown proof of growing in his spiritual life. After we had finished the service on Sunday night, he came to me with tear filled eyes. He looked at me and asked if he could set up an appointment with me to go to my office and talk. I could tell that this didn’t need to wait so I told him that we could sit down right now and talk about it.

He couldn’t hold the tears back any more and he sat there telling me about how his brother (a bar owner in Juliaca) was shot a few days back. A few days earlier he was at the small bar that he owned and was asked to serve 20 people, he couldn’t serve that many people because of the size of his bar.

You can’t always talk sense into a group of people that is drunk. They caused all kinds of problems and the police came by and took everybody to the police station. On the day that he was shot, Jose’s brother walked into the dingy room in the house and gave Jose Antonio (the young man that worked with us) some money to pay bills that had come in.

He handed him the money and told him to take care of his kids, that night he was shot and killed.

Sitting there talking to Jose Antonio and watching his pain was very hard, we spent time praying together and asked God to do incredible things and to give him peace that passes all understanding. All his dreams of going to Spain are now gone. He now will be responsible for taking care of 3 children and his brother’s wife; not to mention that she should be giving birth any day now to the 4th child. Please pray for Jose Antonio that the Lord would help him through this time.

We had 327 people today at Faith Baptist Church.  Please be praying that we could find a place that is bigger or that we could go ahead and buy a piece of property.  We have found a few pieces of property but they are going to cost a minimum of 100,000 just for the property.  Pray that we can fnd a place.
